This island of a tumultuous past has known across the ages many different events that have shaped the Corsican identity and insularity: from the Greek to the Genovese rule, without forgetting the British and the French. Since 1796 it is a French region. Famous for being the homeland of Napoleon Bonaparte, the island is still today sparsely populated, with its biggest city, Ajaccio, only having 65.000 inhabitants.

Conscious of the incredible landscape of their island, the Corsican have long done the utmost to protect it: the Parcu di Corsica, the Corsican regional natural park makes up for about 50% of the island’s surface! Inland, hike up to the highest Corsican mountain, the Monte Cinto, that culminates at 2706 metres above sea level: enjoy the unbelievable view over the island and the sea, in the distance, as it is probably one of the most prodigious belvederes in Europe.

With its hilly and mountainous terrain, our itineraries on this island are ranked as Moderate to Challenging for both walks and hikes.

The reward for challenging yourself is totally worth it: good food thanks to their unique cuisine and famous charcuteries, the one of a kind culture born from their insularity and their will to protect and share their customs and Corsican identity make up for a perfect place to travel to and will most certainly be a once of lifetime kind of experience.
