Walk Inn Provence
The delicate purple flowers and their even more delicate scent turn Provence into a picture-perfect postcard in late June. Wafts of lavender infuse the air, especially around its various distilleries, where all the magic is made. Cycle along the upper hills of the Luberon mountains, carpeted with gorgeous lavender fields, while on the plateaus to the east of Mont Ventoux the purple fields roll out into the horizon, as far as the eyes can see.

Lavender blooms in Provence in mid-June, and the flowers remain until the harvest in mid-July.
Though you’ll find isolated patches of lavender in the plains, most of the lavender is grown on the high plateaus to the east of Mont Ventoux, setting the scene for a magnificent Provence cycling holiday through a never-ending sea of purple flowers, and through charming and authentic villages such as Sault, Saint Christol, Ferrassières, where few tourists venture.
The plateau of Valensole is the most famous lavender spot, near the picturesque town of Aix en Provence, Cézanne’s birthplace. Don’t hesitate to ask us about all the exciting cycling possibilities in Provence through its lavender fields
