PRIVATE GUIDED CYCLING DAY TRIP - Easy - St Remy to Les Baux

PRIVATE GUIDED CYCLING DAY TRIP - Easy - St Remy to Les Baux

180

We leave the charming village of Saint Rémy by bike, where Van Gogh spent the last year of his life, and did some of his most important work.

We cycle along back country roads, pedaling alongside the foot of the jagged Alpilles mountains. We pass vast farms and olive groves, including a working olive mill for a tasting. The Alpilles is the largest olive-oil producing region in France.

Rounding the mountain we reach the perched village of Les Baux de Provence, the remains of its castle sitting dizzyingly above the valley below. After visiting the village and a nice lunch in, we enjoy a wine tasting before a final exhilarating and winding descent back to Saint Rémy.

  • We leave the charming village of Saint Rémy by bike, where Van Gogh spent the last year of his life, and did some of his most important work. Saint Rémy is a small artist's village, filled with quaint cafés, restaurants, and artists' shops. The landscapes around the village have been immortalized in Van Gogh’s work: the cypress trees swaying in the Mistral winds, the open fields, the farmhouses…

We cycle along back country roads, pedaling alongside the foot of the jagged Alpilles mountains. We pass vast farms and olive groves, including a working olive mill for a tasting. The Alpilles is the largest olive-oil producing region in France, and its olive oils are world renowned.

We round the base of the Alpilles mountains, cycling up the Val d’Enfer through the heart of the mountain. At the top of the climb we reach the perched village of Les Baux de Provence, the remains of its castle sitting dizzyingly above the valley below. Les Baux is listed among the most beautiful villages in France.
We highly recommend the optional visit (not included ) of anotherwordly experience at the Carrieres de lumiere, former rock quarry
