The town of Vaison la Romaine has been trough many major eras of History but, most of all, it is known today for the Roman time : discover a true open-air museum - the biggest Gallo - Roman site in France.
Ranked among one of " the most beautiful detours in France " , Vaison is split by the Ouvèze river and a beautiful roman bridge in two sides.
The medieval side will take you through weaving streets up to the ruins of the 11th century castle while the modern side has living cafés and shops around a main square.
