Tavel is a small village on the right bank of the Rhône. The village has an old center and an old church, a beautiful fountain, an interesting lavoir, and café-restaurants for visitors.
Tavel has been known for its wines for the last 700 years. In fact, Tavel wines are often referred to as the 1er rosé de France, or “best rosé in France”.
It’s the only rosé wine to be included on the wine list of every single 3-star restaurant in France. Most rosés are often served as an aperitif: they’re light and crisp. Tavel wines however, have the complexity and flavours to be paired with different dishes.
