Porto: at a cycling and walking distance from Corsica's wonders
Porto, a village in one of the most beautiful gulfs of France
Where is Porto?
Porto is a small seaside village located in Gulf of Porto, no too far from Cargèse and Piana. The village is part of the municipality of Ota, which is a few kilometres inland. Porto and Ota have been, since times immemorial, closely tied: in the middle age, as the inhabitant were often attacked by invaders that came by boat. Due to that, the inhabitant decided to leave this port and go a few miles up the mountain to protect themselves from them.
Today Porto is a small port that attracts many tourists every year in Summer as the slow-paced environment make this destination a perfect spot to relax and start some of Corsica's greatest hikes!
