FONTAINE DE VAUCLUSE
Fontaine de Vaucluse is a small village nestled in the mountains of Vaucluse at the feet of a 230m high cliff top carved by erosion. From here springs the most beautiful river of the department: the Sorgue Vaucluse, result of the emergence of a huge underground network.
The intense beauty of this natural site has inspired many writers and poets such as: Petrarch, Boccaccio, Chateaubriand, Frédéric Mistral and René Char.
From Fontaine de Vaucluse, you can go down the Sorgue by canoe or kayak.
