1 - EASY

  • You enjoy walking as a means to get fresh air and see the countryside, without considering yourself as a "real hiker". You like to walk to get exercise on your holidays, and enjoy strolls in the countryside and discover Provence in a different & fun way.
  • Walks are generally FROM 2-4 HOURS / day on easy terrain, with some climbing up to perched villages .. You don’t need to be an athlete at all to enjoy this trip !

2 - Moderate

  • You enjoy regular exercise (whether walking, cycling, aerobics, etc.). You’re in good shape, used to regular and sustained exercise. You are keen to set off on all-day walks, and can handle walking uphill (slowly) for up to 2 hours at a time.
  • Walks are generally UNDER 5 HOURS /day, on various types of terrain -- though nothing technically difficult -- with up to 600m/2000ft of climbing per day.

3 - Challenging

  • You have HIKING EXPERIENCE and can negotiate rocky, technical terrain. You don’t mind a little scrambling along the way. You practise regular and sustained exercise, lasting up to several hours at a time. You must be confident at orienteering, and using a compass.
  • Walks are FROM 4 TO 7 HOURS /day, and up to 1000m/3300ft of elevation gain per day.
